Concrete walkways for pedestrians are typically 4” thick concrete and are broom finished to be slip resistant. The construction process starts with the removal of the existing grass, dirt or rock from the area and the sides will be formed out. The ground underneath the concrete must also be prepared with a ¾” clean stone base in order to provide drainage. We always recommend 4000 psi minimum for sidewalk and sealer just after the broom is applied.
